NISPA - CEE public administration network

Today I would like to present you NISPA which stands for the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central & Eastern Europe. This is a very interesting organization which focuses its activities on promotion of the development of public administration disciplines and training programmes in post-Communist countries. This means increasing the quality of instruction and research and assisting in school/institute development on international, regional and national levels.

At NISPA website (www.nispa.sk) you can find lots of useful information, raports and forums where you can exchange information with other public administration professionals. Personally I want to encourage you to visit:
  • NISPA Youth Forum - as you may guess here young people interested in public administration issues can express their thoughts;
  • Publications and newsletters;
  • Links and Database - list of very useful websites, institutions and people.

Get the hottest news from the blog!

As probably you have noticed there have been two services added to the blog which help people to stay updated with what's happening here. Below you can find some basic explenation of both of them.

According to FeedBurner.com, RSS is a standard for publishing regular updates to web-based content. Using this standard, Web publishers provide updates, such as the latest news headlines or weblog postings. Meanwhile, consumers use RSS reader applications (or one of a growing number of online services) to collect and monitor their favorite feeds in one place (RSS content from a publisher, viewed in one of these readers, is often called a "feed").

If you want to start using RSS, you can download any kind of program (e.g. FeedReader) and add our feed to your list. Then you have to simply open the program, update your headlines and read the hottest news from the blog! :)

The second service we implemented is simple e-mail subscription (supported by FeedBlitz). If you decided that you prefer to get all updates to your e-mail account you should add your e-mail to the list and then just wait for the blog news!

Reinvent your government with David Osborne

Recently in one of Polish weeklies I read an interview with David Osborne. It was really amazing to read about this person and his work as he helps governments to manage themselves better!

I checket at the Internet and found his company which is the Public Strategies Group. You can find there many interesting tools, articles and case studies which may inspire you or your partners!

Personally, I suggest to read i.a. Reinventing government, Paying for Results and check Team Toolkit.

It's the beginning!

Hey,

It's not the end, it's just the beginning - these words were said two months ago at the park in Budapest where we gathered to close CEE PBOX Conference.

Since that time many things have happened, we all are rich with new experiences connected with leadership and GO sector itself. We have first traineeships available and first AIESEC members who want to apply for them. And that is not our final word!

Now we are initiating on-line learning in the project with special community and blog. We encourage everybody who is interested in this topic to join both and become active learner contributing to own and others learning.

The blog is going to be used to inform about events, availabe traineeships, share resources and experiences. If you want to start blogging with us, please contact with me.

Good luck!,
Maciek
